WASHINGTON STATE FREEZES ALL DAY KINDERGARTEN

OLYMPIA -- Teachers were big winners in the state House's plans to boost government spending, getting $39 million in extra raises partly paid for by freezing an all-day kindergarten program. Good, but let's do away with all-day kindergarten programs! There is no proof that kindergarten is even necessary, and most boys, especially, are not ready at 5 for sit and be still activities. These all day programs are merely daycare dressed up pretty to make parents feel better. Stay home and be a mother.
